Frequently Asked Questions
What is a naturopath?
A naturopath is a qualified health practitioner who uses natural medicine — including nutrition, herbal remedies, and lifestyle strategies — to support your body’s ability to heal and function at its best. I work alongside your GP or specialist when needed, so your care is safe and well-rounded.
What conditions do you support?
I specialise in complex, interconnected health concerns, especially where the nervous system, immune system, gut, and hormones overlap. This includes:
POTS & dysautonomia
ADHD, Autism & AuDHD
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome & hypermobility spectrum disorders
MCAS & histamine intolerance
Autoimmune conditions
Chronic fatigue & burnout
IBS, SIBO, IBD & gastroparesis
PMS, PMDD & hormonal imbalances
Eczema, acne, psoriasis & rosacea
Do I need a formal diagnosis to work with you?
Not at all. Many of my clients come to me still searching for answers. We can start by managing symptoms and investigating possible causes, while also guiding you toward any medical testing that might be helpful.
Do you work with children and teens?
Yes. I support children and adolescents, particularly those with ADHD, Autism, gut health concerns, and immune challenges. Appointments for younger clients are adapted to make them comfortable and easy to follow.
Can you work alongside my doctor or specialist?
Absolutely. I often collaborate with GPs, specialists, and allied health professionals. If you’re on medication, I always check for potential interactions before recommending herbs or supplements.
Do you offer online consultations?
Yes, I offer telehealth appointments, so you can work with me from anywhere in Australia, and sometimes internationally, depending on supplement availability and regulations.
What happens in the first consultation?
Your first appointment is a deep dive into your health history, symptoms, lifestyle, and previous testing. I’ll then create a personalised plan that may include dietary changes, herbal or nutritional supplements, lifestyle adjustments, and referrals for further testing if needed.
How many consultations will I need?
This varies depending on your health goals and the complexity of your condition. Some clients see improvements in 4–6 weeks, while chronic conditions often benefit from ongoing care over several months or years.
Do you recommend supplements?
Yes, where appropriate. I only use evidence-based, practitioner-only products to ensure quality and safety. I’ll always explain why a supplement is recommended and how it fits into your treatment plan.
Can you help if I’m taking medication?
Yes. I take a cautious, evidence-based approach to avoid any negative interactions between herbs, nutrients, and your prescriptions.
Do you offer testing?
Yes. I can arrange a range of functional and pathology tests, including hormone panels, gut microbiome testing, nutrient status, food intolerance testing, and more. I also review any recent test results you bring along.
How do I prepare for my appointment?
Bring any recent test results, a list of your current medications and supplements, and notes about your symptoms. You’re also welcome to jot down any questions you’d like to ask during the session.
Will I have to make big lifestyle changes right away?
Not unless you want to. My approach is realistic and sustainable, especially if you’re living with chronic illness or fatigue. We focus on small, manageable changes that fit into your life and build over time.
